"120 GB Western Digital Disk" 2009-05-17
By Jorge A. Rivera Vela (Mexico City, Mexico)
This is your pick if you want to save $50 or more upgrading your XBOX console (20GB or 60GB version) you can get 120GB for a fraction of the price that MS wants for the same capacity. Some work should be done in the original case and logical work in the disk. It's not a direct upgrade, you do at your own risk and computer knowledge. But I can tell that works perfectlly for this

If you want to use for plain notbook usage, it's a little outdated, because you can get right now 160GB to 500GB capacity disks. But for the price it can be set as a external disk enclosure disk (need to buy the enclosure also) with a lot of capacity for data.

 "It works with 360" 2009-02-25
By C. FUNG
For the one who worried about whether it works with the xbox 360, I would like to tell people it works flawless!

But be sure that you know this is not a direct replacement.

You got to do some works, and you proper need to understand the procedures/replacement guides you found on the internet, otherwise, it will be a waste. Not only on your money, but your time also.

For your reference, I am a programmer, the technical skill for me is around 5/10.

If you wanna move all your saves, you will find it is a bit harder.

 "Great buy" 2008-09-25
By Sylvia B. Baza (FPO, AP United States)
Bought this as a replacement drive for a Dell laptop. I am not a fan of SATA drives. This is the second laptop I have had to replace the drive in. One was a very high use one but not the other, mostly recreational but got unrecoverable bad blocks in both. I do however think that the Western Digital brand is excellent. This site had the best price for the drives. They arrived very well packaged and in an acceptable time frame. No problems reloading from a recovery disk. I will buy other electronic equipment from this merchant in the future.

 "Easy install, no difficulties" 2008-02-14
By Michael Smith (Mountain View, CA USA)
Given that this is a 5400RPM drive, it is definitely a faster drive than the 60GB Seagate drive (likely 4200RPM) originally installed in my MacBook. It vibrates a bit more, but gives me better speed and better capacity. It's still is pretty quiet though.

In the retail box which I purchased this drive, there were no instructions except for a piece of paper that recommended professional installation. For some laptops that don't make HD replacement easy, that might be the case. But if your manufacturer makes instructions for installing a SATA drive in a laptop, you'll be in good shape. There's no slave/master issues with a SATA drive that you'd face with an IDE drive...

Popping the mounting bracket from the MacBook was simple and then I simply formatted it for HFS+ and installed a fresh Leopard copy. No bad sectors or anything else that Mac OS has detected yet, so things are looking good. Nevertheless, it's a hard drive, so who knows what might happen...

 "WD 500GB internal HD" 2009-06-14
By Peter (Atlanta, GA)
The product arrived when expected. It was well packaged and in good condition. I used it to replace an existing hard drive that had run out of space. This meant I needed to get an IDE ribbon connector to connect the two hard drives to the controller. The hardest part of the installation was rigging a way to hold both hard drives in the computer temporarily which was not very difficult. I did not use the software that came with the new HD but elected to use a quick transfer software instead. The installation and transfer of all information from the old HD to the new went very well and the WD 500GB HD is has been working well for about a month now.

 "Hard drive review" 2009-05-03
By Evelio Sardinas
There were no problems with hard drive or JR Electronics. However, there was a huge problem with UPS as they completely screwed up the delivery. UPS compounded the problem by telling me that the driver would come to my house to let me know where he had left the package. After a week of this nonsense I had to wait another three weeks for their "investigation" to be completed before another hard drive was sent. A word of caution, require a signature. This way they cannot say the package was delivered when in fact it was not.

 "Easy set up!" 2009-04-06
By Bill (Sensuntepeque, El Salvador)
I have older external HD case not capatible with SATA drives. This IDE drive works fast and flawless. In fact, I have more problems with the newer SATA devices on my vintage Dell XPS M1210 than this IDE device.
