I'm using this on my network to connect my iMac and PS3, it has worked fantastic, just remember that when you first plug it in it powers on then turns off. I first thought that it was broken but then realized I just needed to hold the power button to really turn it on. The WD anywhere backup leaves alot to be desired but it worked as a decent backup, thats the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I would recommend this to anyone.

I've been in the IT field since 1993 and have worked with a wide variety of products. So, I speak from experience when I say that this product is EXCELLENT! Extremely easy and intuitive setup, and it works flawlessly as one would expect. It's also extremely quiet.
One drawback: I'm not sure if this is due to purchasing the drive on Amazon, but it arrived with no installation CD, manual, or backup software. However, I easily obtained all three from WD's web site which is very easy to navigate and I was up and running in no time.

Stopped working. Impossible to access my data (family photos). A disaster. Recommend buying two ordinary external USB drives and not this junk.

i have an XP machine and Vista machine on the same network at home. thought this storage solution made sense for a home network. the problem is that my newer machine (the vista machine) does like the WD drivers. as a result, my Vista machine is unstable. if I can only use the storage on my XP machine, then I might as well buy a USB version of storage. the network function is over-rated. I am sending the WD My Book World Edition 1tb Network back. Try googling this. Others have had the same problem and there doesn't appear to be a solution. wasted my Saturday night trying to figure this out.
