I had to get my internal hdd replaced and was given this. Within 2 weeks it was giving me a message about smart failure. So I had it replaced. Four months later, I'm getting smart failure messages again. What's up with that. :| I don't know if WD will replace it for me, but I guess I'll have to call and check.
(I also had to pay a *lot* more for mine....)
On the other hand, the current price is nice. I'm not a high-level user, but I was able to reformat and partition it with Paragon while preserving all the files on it (I hadn't been able to do with with my WD Passport portable, so I guess it counts for something). Aside from the smart failure, there's nothing really objectionable about it that I can detect. But the smart failure is pretty big, I'd think.
