The passport is a good size and price but didn't work with my Mac PowerBook G4.
From what I gather the USB port may not have enough power to recognize the drive.
It worked just fine on my PC however (and I bought two and they both didn't work on my Mac but did on my PC so I know it is the Mac/passport combo.) anyway, just thought I'd give a heads up to any of you folks with older macs...

I bought this as a back-up storage for a new laptop that has 320 GB storage, and am quite happy with it. I bought WD My Passports before. The storing capacity increased, price decreased, and the design remains almost the same. I liked the old ones better, but the new one is still good. I have had a great experience with all Passports I purchased - they are small, light, easy to carry around, doesn't require extra power source, highly reliable, is affordable, and comes with a nice little software for sync with a computer. It supplies a small USB2 cable, and easily connects with any computer with a USB 2 port. I bought the silver color to be able to easily distinguish from the other WD Passports I own. Only disappointment (small) is that they did away with a plastic guard for the USB port on the hard drive. I protected from any dust from entering the port, and it was a nice little extra design that made my older Passports so attractive.

I am using this to back up my iTunes library. No problems with it so far. I have always had good luck with WD products.

The product is great with the inbuilt software which after installation does all the backups automatically.
I had to Re-format the device to NTFS from default FAT32 so that i can store large files (files larger than 3 GB). All in all it is great deal
