Noticeabaly faster than old 7200 rpm drive, especially on boot-up and application launch. But worth the $1.00 per gigabyte for the slightly faster speed, I think not, unless you're one of those that has to have the very best, like me.

I use my computer to process photographic images and to enhance the speed of the process I locate the cashing files on a fast hard drive. Until solid state hard drives become common, the fastest hard drives turn at a fast speed, i.e. 10,000 rpms. I purchased this hard drive for the speed and also for a size larger than the one I replaced. The installation was easy and the operation of the drive in photo image processing has been flawless thus far.
