I bought this 320GB Scorpio WD Black 2.5" SATA HD to replace the stock 120GB HD in my 2009 MacMini.
I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the contents of the 120 GB drive to this new drive and then did the swap.
The computer rebooted fine and so far it's been working great.

This hard drive is excellant! I installed it in my macbook, and it works very nice. It is relatively quiet perhaps not as quiet as western digital is known for, but quiet enough. I'm blind, so if anyone should be able to complain about a product being noisey, it's me.. My name is chris my girlfriend and I ordered this through her account. It does have minamul vibration, but I'd say that's due to the faster revolutions per minute as opposed to a 5400 rpm drive. The response time while opening programs and copying etc are great though. I have both windows and mac osx on this drive and both perform quite well This drive is an excellant price and very reliable! I would recommend this drive most definatly, and I'm thinking of purchasing another for my other laptops.

320GB of disk space in a 2.5in package? Western Digital does it again. Note the 16MB of cache. SIXTEEN MEGABYTES OF CACHE. With SATA speed too? Sheesh. This drive should be a standard for laptops.
This drives runs at 7200rpms. Not 4200rpms like in some laptops. Not 5400rpms. But 7200rpms. The only thing faster are 10k and 15k drives (hard to put into a laptop due to heat/speed and cost).
This is a "bulk" drive which means it does not come with cables, manuals, rails, or screws. It's just a drive in an electrostatic bag. Be warned. If you don't need the extras, you can save a few bucks with this drive.
It works great on all of the newer Thinkpads. I installed it into a w700 and it works like a champ.

This is one of the best laptop HDD's you can get. Decent amount of storage, very fast, reliable, and the free-fall sensor is a great just-in-case feature, that definately helps if you have an "oh s***" drop moment with your laptop. I've never had a single WD Hard Drive fail on me, so I'm hoping this one lasts as long as some of the older WD drives I have. Also, this drive is VERY quiet, and I have yet to see "excessive vibrations" that other reviewers have complained about.
