I bought this hard drive from Amazon and it worked ONCE. I returned it to Western Digital at my own espense. The replacement drive appeared to work, I performed a complete backup of my data, and then it wouldn't boot. I believe the power supply is defective as it makes a spin-up sound, then stops.
I would give this NEGATIVE stars if I could. I will never buy any Western Digital product again.

Some compability issues at the first time... a BIOS aupgrade solved the problem. Working good so long. Nice presentation and easy to install.

I have 3 WD external drives and have yet to have a problem with them. I have multiple computers running everything from XP to Vista to OSX to Ubuntu and everyone of my drives is detected right away on each of my systems. I will continue to purchase WD products.

I got two WD My book and they both didn't last more than a year.
My first the board on it went bad and it wouldn't get a IP address. My warranty on it had expired and i thought i had a lemon, so i purchased a new one. My second one just bit the dust just a little over a year. Of course just out of warranty. Bad product bad company. I should have read Amazon review.
